Alki’s journey began in 1981 in Itsasu, a small village in the north of the Basque Country, a rural environment with little industrialisation. The company was founded by a group of five friends, each with an absolute commitment to working and living in their homeland and who shared ideas, strength and dreams. The cooperative status was the most true to Alki’s values, which are inherent in its everyday life.
Synonymous with nobility, resistance and durability, oak is much more to Alki than just raw material. It stands for the company’s firm commitment to achieving sustainable and responsible development.
Characterised by its ancestral and technological know-how, Alki offers a contemporary interpretation of conviviality and distributes its products around the globe contributing to the interior design of a range of spaces.
Alki means “chair” in Basque.
