Geneviève Dangles graduated from the ENSAD where she studied under René Gabriel and was then a student of André Arbus. She then joined Marcel Gascoin’s studio.
Christian Defrance first trained in wood sculpture at the École Boulle and met his future wife and design partner at the ENSAD, where he also graduated from.
Together, they embarked on a collaboration with Burov, which lasted until the 1960s.
They developed a modern and innovative style characterised by original lines, both round and fluid, combined with unfailing comfort and ergonomics.
Among their designs are the Saturn Armchair 44, the Chair 18 or the Sofa 58, all emblematic models of the Burov brand.
