Of German descent but a true Francophile, Franka Holtmann has become a specialist of luxury hotels.
Originally self-taught, she became sales manager for the Méridien Étoile.
After evening marketing courses at Cornell-ESSEC business school, a management degree from the Institut Méridien and a management workshop at the Insead, she became commercial director of the Ritz. Five years later, she was number two at the Plaza Athénée.
Franka Holtmann took over the reins at Le Crillon as General Manager before being appointed Head of Le Meurice.
In need of a revival, the hotel lay like a sleeping beauty, waiting for its fairy godmother to bring it back to life. Franka Holtmann called on Philippe Starck to conceive of a new life for Le Meurice to reawaken and rejuvenate its rich legacy.
In 2015, she was elected “Best General Manager in France” by the World Luxury Travel Awards.
