Gilles Lipovetsky, born in 1944 in France, is an essayist and associate professor of philosophy at the University of Grenoble. Having received Honorary Doctorates from a number of universities, he also served as member of the National Council of the National Education Programmes until 2005.
His research focuses on the transformations of values, lifestyles and behaviours in developed Western societies.
Until 2013, he was member of the Conseil d’Analyse de la Société reporting directly to the Prime Minister and is today an expert consultant to the Association Progrès du Management. Gilles Lipovetsky regularly speaks at seminars and conferences around the world.
His best known work is undoubtedly L’Ère Du Vide, published in 1983 and translated into 20 languages.
