At 15, Guy Savoy resolved to “cook or bust!”. So he became a chef.He learnt the riches and responsibilities of the trade through apprenticeships. First with his city’s own chocolatier Louis Marchand, then with the Brothers Troisgros, who fascinated him by how elegantly they worked.
At the age of twenty-seven, he opened his first restaurant in Paris on Rue Duret, where he rapidly gained recognition from the world of gastronomy. Currently based at La Monnaie de Paris, he owns five Maisons, one of which is abroad, and has just opened a boutique. His signature is also characterised by his work with architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and designer Bruno Moretti.
