Cité de l’Architecture & du Patrimoine and VIA present MINI MAOUSSE - Season 6 - "La nouvelle maison des jours meilleurs"
CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
Temporary, adjustable living space, here and elsewhere
As part of the sixth edition of the micro-architecture contest Mini Maousse, on the theme of temporary, adjustable living spaces, Cité de l'Architecture, DIHAL and VIA are preparing an inaugural conference (October 2015) which will take place in Nantes and Paris.
With the help of researchers in human and social sciences, personalities from public bodies and the world of non-profits, as well as architecture and design, we are offering the opportunity to understand the current situation and evolutions in the field of alternative living spaces: architectural, social and economic responses.
In order to best fuel this discussion, we are launching a call for contributions to identify and collect – from across France and worldwide – accounts of experiments with temporary, adjustable living spaces for people in insecure financial situations (families or individuals). The projects carried out, which are topical by nature, must be carried out by non-profit or public bodies.
These are not accounts of the reality of urban slums, but accounts of innovative urban and social architectural solutions that are cheap and easy to set up, planned and put in place to put an end to urban slums and more generally to find solutions to unaffordable and poor quality housing.
