The traveling exhibition "NO TASTE FOR BAD TASTE so Starck, so Bouroullec ... so le French Design", organized by le French Design by VIA in partnership with the French Institute, has been a huge success since its first date in Milan in April 2017. An unprecedented and promising project.
Original scenography signed by the designer, artist and fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
FROM APRIL 17 TO MAY 19, 2018 / FRENCH INSTITUTE OF MILAN
7 pairs and 13 projects to better identify the 10 values of French Design by VIA and 2 guest projects selected by Eyes on Talents. Elegance, creativity, the art of living, daring, panache, the sense of innovation or balance, cultural openness and inclusion in a know-how or a typically French heritage are scrutinized by the VIA DESIGN Incubator.
FROM APRIL 17 TO 22, 2018 / SALONE SATELLITE MILAN
17 students from 8 schools of French design and interior design were selected by a jury of journalists, designers, publishers and manufacturers of French furniture gathered by the VIA.
These young designers present an original and responsible vision of object design trends, interior design or global design revisiting the 10 values of French Design.
The French furniture industry provides around 130,000 jobs, including some 50,000 direct positions, across 12,000 companies (mainly SMEs and mid-tier firms). Activity in this sector accounts for around eight billion euros in annual production.
Companies, including many SMEs, are able to use this dynamic to seek out new export markets and win business contracts, as illustrated by the success of a number of groups, designers and businesses who have achieved international recognition.
The Group of Exporters of French Furnishings (GEM) is the coordinator of the French presence on major international events such as Salone del Mobile in Milan (April), ICFF in New York (May), Index in Dubai ( May), Decorex in London (September) and Furniture China in Shanghai (September).
