Founded in London by Sir Terence Conran in 1964, Habitat sells stylish and practical household furnishings.
From the very beginning, the brand’s ambition has been to modernise everyday furniture by offering contemporary designs at affordable prices. It wasn’t long before it had found success thanks to its innovative touch : Habitat’s style and modernity set it apart from other brands, thanks, above all, to introducing the concept of fashion into furniture. The purchase model was also reinvented as customers were able to shop in “self-service” stores and directly browse the products on display. Habitat became a trendsetter in the world of furnishings.
The company’s design studio was headed by Tom Dixon and Theo Williams until French designer Pierre Favresse took over as creative director in 2011.
