Marva Griffin was born in Venezuela and Milan became her adopted city when she began working as a PR for C&B Italia.
She became the Italian correspondent for a number of Conde Nast Publications.
For eight years, she organised the “Incontri Venezia” textile show in Venice.
In 1998, she founded the “SaloneSatellite”, which she continues to curate. It is a special event within Milan’s “Salone Internazionale” del Mobile that represents a showcase for young creative designers and future graduates from universities and design schools all over the world.
In May 2014, she received the Premio Compasso d’Oro XXIII alla Carriera.
She directed the International Press Office for the “Milan International Furniture Fair” for more than 18 years.
Marva Griffin has been a member of the Philip Johnson Architecture and Design Committee at the MoMa since 2001.
On December 2016, she was named Italian Design Ambassador.
