While the concept is to be unveiled in Paris on 23rd February, it is on 5th April 2017, within the framework of the Salone del Mobile in Milan that the NO TASTE FOR BAD TASTE exhibition will first be revealed outside of France at the Institut Français in Milan.
The event met with instant success, attracting more than 1200 figures from the world of design.
All 40 key pieces were then exhibited during the Venice Biennale, before travelling on to Montreal in October for the World Design Summit, where it was on display for 15,000 visitors to see. In December, the tour then moved on to Miami to take part in the Design Miami and Art Basel co-exposition and was officially opened by the French Ambassador to the United States.
So what happened next ? NO TASTE FOR BAD TASTE continued its epic round-the-world journey in 2018. It picked up its nomadic pace, setting up camp in the A+D Museum in Los Angeles, at the ICFF furniture fair in New York, and in Saks’ prestigious department store window displays on the famous Fifth Avenue. It then made its next move to Buenos Aires’ Museo Nacional de Arte Decorativo.
Asia is on the itinerary for 2019 and 2020, with China, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan potentially welcoming the exhibition before it heads back to Europe in 2021, having voyaged through more than 20 countries.
