Founded in 1994 by Henri Seydoux, Parrot designs, develops and markets hi-tech wireless products for the public and major companies.
The brand is credited with developing the first wireless hands-free car kit connected by Bluetooth, but it wasn’t until 2010 that the group really caught the public’s attention with its drones. The first civil drone to go on sale to the public, the Parrot AR.Drone, was controlled using a smartphone to which it relayed what it filmed through Wi-Fi.
But Parrot is Zik, too, a headset designed by Starck and which became popular thanks to its ads with Carla Bruni and Beth Ditto.
Garden-wise, the brand created a smart flower pot with sensors allowing the plant’s needs to be analysed and sent to a smartphone.
Parrot has over 1,000 employees worldwide today and generates most of its sales abroad.
