Created in partnership with the University of Harvard and based on NASA studies, this appliance uses a plant’s active filtration system to eliminate toxic gases.
Its fan draws in polluted air and propels it through the leaves and root system of a plant, then out through the water and soil filtration system and back into the room.
Andrea received the Best Invention Award from the journal Popular Science in 2008. It is now part of the permanent collections of MoMA and the Museum of Decorative Arts.
